What: An all-school event to celebrate and encourage reading - at school, at home, individually and together! How many minutes can our school read? In addition, the “read around the world” theme is intended to spark an interest in world geography and especially an awareness of the seven continents.
Why: Reading is a foundation to success in education and builds a lifelong love of learning. We want to celebrate our students and their commitment to read.
How: Students will keep track of minutes they spend reading or being read to for the two weeks of the read-a-thon. We hope that all NHES students will participate! Classroom teachers will support this event by providing lots of reading time and inviting “Guest Readers” to the classroom to share books with the children.

Thursday Nov 13th and Thursday Nov 20th There will be recess "read-ins" at the School Library. Come and join your young reader during morning or lunch recess!
